Letter: NMU ROTC Donates to the Community

Dear Editor,

On Feb. 1, 2008, Sophmore Cadet John Pfiester coordinated an event for NMU ROTC to raise money to support our Military Ball and Jacobetti Home for Veterans. ROTC hosted our first RUN-A-THON around the Superior Dome in which donations and pledges were made by friends, family, and local supporters.

The NMU ROTC Cadets ran for a two hour period in total laps ranging from 25-45. The event was a success with us raising enough money to donate over $1000.00 to the Jacobetti Home for Veterans.

Within the Jacobetti, the money will be donated on Feb. 28, 2008 at 10:00am. The funds will go towards the Member Assistance Program. This program is one that supports the aid in vision tests, hearing aids, and glasses for residents who can’t afford them.
