There are many places on campus that the everyday student doesn’t know about. Those places are the focus of Northern Nooks, an online video tour of the little known spots that further students’ experiences at NMU.
This nook is as far away a student can get on the main part of campus: inside Whitman Hall. The building is home to many departments on campus, but today my tour went through the Office of International Programs and Department of Modern Languages in the North wing of the building.
The tour guide this week is NMU student and secretary for the departments Austin Smith. She guides us to information bays about how to become a foreign exchange student, a giant wall map of where students are student teaching and studying abroad and a trip to the Whitman Commons.
