About us

The North Wind is an independent student publication serving the Northern Michigan University community. It is partially funded by the Student Activity Fee. The North Wind digital paper is published daily during the fall and winter semesters except on university holidays and during exam weeks. The North Wind Board of Directors is composed of representatives of the student body, faculty, administration and area media.

Junior sprinter Jenna Long found her way to the top podium for the second week in a row after finishing first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.70 seconds. She followed up her first performance with another first place victory, this time in the 200-meter dash in 26.51 seconds. Long swept first-place victories in both events last weekend.
