About us

The North Wind is an independent student publication serving the Northern Michigan University community. It is partially funded by the Student Activity Fee. The North Wind digital paper is published daily during the fall and winter semesters except on university holidays and during exam weeks. The North Wind Board of Directors is composed of representatives of the student body, faculty, administration and area media.

Wildcat of the week

In a game that came down to the very last seconds, it was freshman Anthony Ladd who made a game-clinching interception near the Wildcat goal line and raced the ball all the way down the field for a touchdown. Ladd’s interception, along with five solo tackles, helped the Wildcats pick up their first win in the GLIAC conference against a formidable Wayne State football team.
