THE AMAN PROJECT — The Refugee Outreach Collective Humanitas and NMUs philosophy department is hosting a fundraiser to raise funds for the Aman Project, a humanitarian organization located in Istanbul, Turkey, that supports LGBTQ+ refugees and asylum seekers are in need of assistance. Donation are encouraged but not required to enter the events raffle.

Michigan is in a state of crisis, and there seems to be nothing anyone can do to stop it. The budget coming from Lansing has been focused on trying to cut anything that could save the state money. Education has been massively decrease in the past several months, and students from kindergarten through college are feeling the hurt.

The North Wind is an independent student publication serving the Northern Michigan University community. It is partially funded by the Student Activity Fee. The North Wind digital paper is published every Friday during the fall and winter semesters except on university holidays and during exam weeks. The North Wind Board of Directors is composed of representatives of the student body, faculty, administration and area media.
