THE AMAN PROJECT — The Refugee Outreach Collective Humanitas and NMUs philosophy department is hosting a fundraiser to raise funds for the Aman Project, a humanitarian organization located in Istanbul, Turkey, that supports LGBTQ+ refugees and asylum seekers are in need of assistance. Donation are encouraged but not required to enter the events raffle.

During a commencement address delivered for the 1959 honors graduating class at the University of Chicago, American philosopher Leo Strauss congratulated the students on having received a "liberal education." He defined this liberal education as "an education in or toward a culture.

The North Wind is an independent student publication serving the Northern Michigan University community. It is partially funded by the Student Activity Fee. The North Wind digital paper is published every Friday during the fall and winter semesters except on university holidays and during exam weeks. The North Wind Board of Directors is composed of representatives of the student body, faculty, administration and area media.
