Northern Nooks – Aviation Maintenance Lab

There are many places on campus that the everyday student doesn’t know about. Those places are the focus of Northern Nooks, an online video tour of the little known spots that further students’ experiences at NMU.

This nook flies high into the Jacobetti Center, as I go into the aviation maintenance lab with associate professor Mark Welke and assistant professor Mark Matteson for their turbine inspection and overhaul class.

Welke escorted me through the lab that is broken up into many different areas. Numerous airplane pieces have been scattered around the area as students take apart the delicate machinery.

Send suggestions for future Northern Nooks segments to [email protected].
