The United States Olympic Education Center’s Greco-Roman team is hosting a camp with the U.S. Marine Corps this week and next.
The Marine team makes the 23- hour drive up to Marquette from their base in Camp Lejeune, N.C., at least once a year to train at the Olympic Education Center.
Amongst the USMC team will be ranked athletes, including Donovan DePatto at 60 kg and Steve Forrest at 74 kg. Both ranked top seven in the U.S. Wrestling February Greco-Roman releases.
In the top fourth and fifth rankings are senior Paul Tellgren (55 kg) and sophomore Kendrick Saunders (74 kg).
Ranked seventh in their respective weight classes are sophomore Max Nowry (55 kg), junior Tanner Andrews (66 kg), junior Aaron Briggs (74 kg), and senior Zach Nielsen (96 kg). At ninth and tenth are juniors Mark Stenberg (84 kg) and Jonathan Drendel (74 kg).
The two teams will be putting together a line-up for a dual between the USOEC and the USMC. This will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 19, in the wrestling room at the Superior Dome. Spectators are welcome to attend at no cost.
