NMU’s West Science and New Science buildings have been closed for the day after a fire started in a chemistry storage room on the 3rd floor of New Science.
The fire was reported around 8:30 a.m. The Marquette Fire Department responded to the scene.
The buildings fire suppression system went off and doused the fire, said Derek Hall, Assistant Vice President of University Marketing and Communications.
The New Science and West Science Buildings will be closed for the remainder of the day for clean up, Hall said.
