Senior forward Robbie Payne recorded two points at Alabama-Huntsville over the weekend, a goal and an assist. Through 32 games played this season, Payne has 18 goals and has been recognized as a Hobey Baker nominee as the NCAA’s best men’s ice hockey player. Payne looks to become the first Wildcat to win the honor. Defenseman Brad Werenka finished second in voting for Northern Michigan in 1991. Payne and the Wildcats have four regular season games left before the start of the WCHA playoffs.
