For some, a long weekend could mean extra hours of relaxation. For others, a job had to be done. Groups from an array of residence halls played in this year’s kickball tournament on Labor Day, dressing in similar colors and matching shirts to represent their teams.
One team that competed was from Neverland, or Magers’ second floor. Although the team lost, their players were high in spirits and walked off the field with smiles.
“We lost, but we ended happy,” Sophomore Norah Soerens said. “We took the L, but with smiles.”
Regardless of the scores, many students found it beneficial to participate in events similar to these, especially at the start of a new semester.
“You get to know people here better than anything because you’re working in team sports and working with people you’ve never met before,” Soerens said. “It gets you up and going for the day.”
