Opinion — Coolest campus costumes

God I love Halloween, and nothing makes me happier than seeing everyone in costume. On Halloween this year, and the following weekend, so many people on campus dressed up. I collected as many photos as I could to help capture the Halloween spirit, and show how creative, funny, talented and cool everyone at NMU is. I have compiled the best of the best, and sorted them into multiple categories: best group, best couple, best faculty and best overall. Along with some of our own North Wind staff.

Without further ado, I present the Coolest Costumes on Campus.

1. Best Group

Pitbull(s), what a banger of a group. The bald caps, facial hair, glasses, suits and just the coordination. Easy win for this spot. (Photo Courtesy of NMU Barstool)

2. Best Couple

There were a lot of Jokers and Harleys this year, but this is the best duo of them. It has that classic feel, and the makeup is just stellar. (Photo Courtesy of NMU Barstool)

3. Best Faculty

Jennifer Howard donning a spider on her head for her Halloween classes. It was so simple, and yet seeing it bob around all class was so funny and made the class an utter joy. (Antonio Anderson)

4. Best Overall

I gave a top three for this section, and this Joker took the Bronze. This has a very cool twist on the Jared Leto version, and improved upon it, and has great makeup done on the hand.  (Photo Courtesy of Emma Krause)
This Chappell Roan costume blew me away. When it was first sent to me I thought this a picture of the actual musician. The makeup and hair look incredible and fit the person very well. They deserve the silver for this one.

The straight presence this picture has is insane, the rain, cigar and the movie quality suit is awesome. The person pictured even resembles Steve Rogers. This by far takes the crown for best costume on campus.  (Photo Courtesy of NMU Barstool)

4. Staff Pics

Our Editor in Chief, Molly Birch, costumed as Coach Sue from Glee. (Molly Birch)
Here I am, sporting a barbarous costume as Conan the Cimmerian. He is my favorite fantasy hero, and it made me so happy to go as this guy. But what should I go as next year? (Antonio Anderson)
