Over the weekend, the Northern Michigan Men’s soccer team played their last two games of the season on the road.
The team ended their season in a split falling 0-3 to Purdue Northwest on Friday. The team rallied back for their last game of the season beating Parkside on Sunday 1-0.
The Cats end their season 6-8-2. The Cats did not make the tournament this year.
“Because we had so many young players and so many new players, that’s okay. The Fall season might be over but we’re we’re two and a half months into this team, this group of players, and so that’s a really short amount of time to be together to grow and to learn these things about college soccer. So, although the fall maybe has ended it’s just into the next step of our team development process,” Head Coach Alex Fatovic said.
The final Wildcat goal on Sunday came from Sophomore Jaziel Saniz de Vilmorin.
“The team is hungry. They’re asking to train this week. They don’t want to stop so, yes there’s a disappointment, but there’s a lot of positives to move forward,” Coach Fatovic said.
With the season being over, the team will say goodbye to two players who are seniors. The first is Logan Lazar and the second player graduating is Kyle Cameron.
