This morning Northern Michigan University’s President Dr. Brock Tessman announced his acceptance for the presidential role at Montana State University where he worked at prior to NMU.
Dr.Tessman’s last day as NMU president will be July 1.
“I love serving as your president, and our family loves Marquette and the Upper Peninsula,” Dr.Tessman said. “As you all know this is an incredibly special community, and we couldn’t have felt more welcome during our time here. Thank you.”
Dr.Tessman adds the decision to move back to MSU was not an easy one for him, or his family.
“It is an incredible opportunity to lead Montana State University – an amazing institution that I know well in a beautiful place where our family has deep connections. That part is exciting, no doubt. At the same time, our entire family is feeling real sadness about this change, especially because it is happening earlier than we would have ever imagined,” Dr. Tessman said.
Additionally Dr. Tessman says he’s confident NMU will continue to grow under the remaining leadership team.
“Importantly, we have a Board of Trustees and a leadership team that is experienced, talented, and more than ready to build on the good momentum that is already underway,” Dr. Tessman said.
