The NMU football team laced up their cleats on Saturday to compete in their spring game against Minnesota Duluth. They outscored the Bulldogs 20-9, with star Noah Dobert scoring three touchdowns and rushing for 153 yards on 12 carries.
This modified game allowed both teams to run drills against each other and practice plays. They were able to get both new and returning players onto the gridiron and back into the groove of playing.
Going into the 2025 season, which starts on August 28th against Minnesota State-Moorhead, head coach Shane Richardson is taking all the time to prep and get his players ready. He stated in a press conference that the guys have had early morning practices and training and will be ready for the season.
The spring game marked a positive showing for the Wildcats as they look to build momentum following several challenging seasons.
