Task Force to hold rally to raise awareness of childcare crisis

The Early Childhood Education Task Force will hold a rally Friday to raise awareness of the childcare crisis of the Upper Peninsula and demonstrate the need for an early childhood education center, a learning and education based daycare center, on campus.
COMMUNICATION—The NMU task force is working together to form an education center for the Marquette area in response to a heavy need for childcare.

After I got a little advice and money from my family, I discovered how cheap both college and apartments in the area are. Some apartments even go for as little as $1,300 a month. I can’t imagine living on campus is much worse. It’s probably only a couple thousand for a few months. That sounds like a good deal to me.

WEECARE WONDERLAND—WeeCare, a childcare company, is partnering with NMU to help achieve the goal of providing affordable and convenient childcare to students and faculty. WeeCare helps families in need of childcare by placing their children in facilities that already exist. If there is a shortage, WeeCare itself will work with members of the community to help them start their own daycares and childcare facilities in order to open up availability in childcare.
