On Friday, Sept. 12, students walked to Contrast Coffee Co. for a My Way Friday event where they could meet up with both old and new friends. Hosted by the Center for Student Enrichment and funded by the My Way North Program, the event allowed newer students to get a feel of the Marquette area while more seasoned students got to enjoy a free coffee with friends.
“The coffee walk in particular is to expose them to local businesses and Marquette, and to mingle with people and make new friends,” said Jordon Brown, a graduate student assistant.

My Way Friday is a day full of events and workshops to help students get involved and meet new people they might not have met in their classes.
“It’s just a really good way to meet other students, especially from different programs,” said Gwen Feamster, a graduate student assistant. “I think a lot of times in our classes, we make friends, which is really good, but having people from other disciplines and learning things about other programs is important.”
Antiquing and Thrifting with Rachel, Wildpups and Sunset Rock Hounding were some of the other My Way Friday events that took place on Friday, Sept. 12.
