After long hours in class and hospitals, NMU radiography students have perfected a recipe for success—and for baked goods. Stop by Jamrich Hall on March 10 to taste their creations and support their educational journey. On Tuesday, March 10, from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Radiography Class of 2027 will be selling baked goods in the Jamrich Hall ticket booth.

The sale will include—but is not limited to—homemade cookies, brownies, cupcakes, muffins, cinnamon rolls and more. Students and staff will be able to purchase items with cash or through virtual payment apps such as Venmo.

All funds collected from the bake sale will go back into the program to help students cover various expenses as they work toward meeting their graduation requirements. These costs include a mandatory review program, state board exam fees, textbooks and other educational materials.

“This is an exciting opportunity for our program because it allows our class to fundraise money to put toward our upcoming expenses while also giving students and staff a chance to try our baked goods,” said Kaya Szews, radiography student. “As students, we work very hard in the classroom and in the hospitals to develop as future X-ray technologists. It is important to us to be able to utilize the review materials available before taking our final certification boards exam, although they are expensive.”

SUPPORT FUTURE HEALTH CARE HEROSStudents will have the opportunity to help Radiography fundraise for their future.

Through this event, students in the program hope not only to fundraise, but also to educate other students and community members about what radiography is and how it serves the community.

“By reaching out to the community and doing these fundraisers, there is less of a financial burden for us as we utilize these resources. We appreciate everyone’s support,” Szews said.

Events like this help build stronger connections between students and the campus community—especially the programs found within it. So keep an eye out for freshly baked treats and support the hardworking students of the Radiography Program.

More information about the bake sale can be found on The Hub, as well as ways to contact an organizer if you have any questions.
