NMU brings laughs to campus

Comedian Rob Paravonian will visit NMU’s campus on Dec. 6 to give NMU students a break from studying for exams. Paravonian has 3.7 million hits on YouTube for his ‘Pachelbel’ rant and has been featured on the radio broadcast Dr. Demento Show, VH1 and Comedy Central. Lina Blair, resident director of Gant Hall, said Paravonian’s style is similar to that of Adam Sandler and will have his guitar on stage. Paravonian started out on the cello where he formed his long-standing hatred for the famous classical piece ‘Pachelbel’s Canon in D’ which inspired his most popular work. Along with these ventures, he has also played in numerous open mic clubs across the nation and performed in Afghanistan for the U.S. troops. Lina Blair said that Paravonian’s performance is part of Primetime Productions’ effort to provide safe and entertaining options to students on weekend nights. The performance will be held in Jamrich 103 on Thursday, Dec. 6 at 8 p.m.
