    HARDEN RENOVATION - Harden Hall currently houses the university library, archives, and the Center for Teaching and Learning. The renovation will add around 18,000 square footage of new space and will bring in the four academic departments currently housed in Gries Hall.

    CLIMB ON — Despite bruised shins and jelly limbs, I (climbing on the right) reached the top of this 70-foot ice formation — affectionately named “The Dryer Hose” — with several words of encouragement and a few breaks. While physical strength is a must to reach the top, the mental roadblocks were much more complicated to conquer as I clung to the face of the ice.

    ADVOCACY — EQMI is an LGBTQ + advocacy and victim advocate services organization nonprofit that is based in lower Michigan that advocates for the rights of LGBTQ + individuals and communities as well as providing victim services. Mandy Bonesteel is the current rural outreach coordinator based in the U.P. and is working to provide these services to community members.

        The North Wind is an independent student publication serving the Northern Michigan University community. It is partially funded by the Student Activity Fee. The North Wind digital paper is published every Friday during the fall and winter semesters except on university holidays and during exam weeks. The North Wind Board of Directors is composed of representatives of the student body, faculty, administration and area media.
