NMU golfers begin season at Saginaw Valley State

The Northern Michigan University men’s golf team teed off the 2009-10 season over the weekend at the Saginaw Valley State Invitational.

NMU shot a three-round total of 932 (317-308-307) which was good for 10th place. Ferris State won the event with a scorecard of 837 (281-279-277) while Grand Valley State was second (846, 278-284-284).

Pete Jensen led the Wildcats with a 220 (75-76-69) which was good for a 19th place tie. Ben Fulcher tied for 44th place with a 232 (82-76-74). Terrence Rose was 50th with a score of 239 (81-76-82). Adam Huss shot a 242 (79-81-82) over the two days for a 52nd place showing. Chris Wyniawskyj was the final NMU golfer on the course as he came into the clubhouse with a 250 (85-80-85) which placed him 55th.

The NMU team will be back on the links Sept. 20-21 at the NCAA Regional 1 which will be held in Holland, Mich.
