Passport Day makes applying easier

The International Programs Office along with Peter White Public Library and Marquette Wallpaper and Paint will be hosting “Passport Day,” an event designed to make it easier to secure the means for international travel.

Hosted in the lower level of the LRC on the NMU campus, this event will give the opportunity to apply for a passport card or passport book all in one place.

A passport card can be used for travel by land or sea to Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and the Caribbean. A passport book can be used for all travel destinations. Travelling internationally holds a variety of benefits, from recreational interest to educational achievements.

Those interested will need to bring a valid photo ID (drivers license, military ID or previous passport), a passport photo (Marquette Wallpaper and Paint will be available to take photos for $10), and proof of citizenship, which is a certified birth certificate.

Payment should be in two separate checks or money orders made out to the Peter White Public Library for $25 and to the Department of State for the passport book or passport card.

A passport book will cost $75 and passport card will be $20.
