About us

The North Wind is an independent student publication serving the Northern Michigan University community. It is partially funded by the Student Activity Fee. The North Wind digital paper is published daily during the fall and winter semesters except on university holidays and during exam weeks. The North Wind Board of Directors is composed of representatives of the student body, faculty, administration and area media.

Apps to help you keep your New Year’s resolutions

New Year’s resolutions induce so much promise: a fresh start, a new you, and the hope and possibility that the new year brings.  However, no matter how enticing “A new you” sounds in people’s minds today, the vast majority will give up on those ambitions before Saint Valentine knocks at the door.  But not this year.  This time we are a year older, and, of course, infinitely wiser.

Mentally returning from winter break is always difficult, but if Apple’s sales were even close to their projections, it is likely that most of you have a shiny new iProduct to keep your mind on vacation for months to come. Let’s put all of this great technology to good use and keep those resolutions.
