About us

The North Wind is an independent student publication serving the Northern Michigan University community. It is partially funded by the Student Activity Fee. The North Wind digital paper is published daily during the fall and winter semesters except on university holidays and during exam weeks. The North Wind Board of Directors is composed of representatives of the student body, faculty, administration and area media.

Ganzert memorial set for April 24

Students wishing to pay their respects to the late  Professor Chuck Ganzert can do so at a memorial that will be held on campus this
weekend.

A memorial for Ganzert will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, April 24 in the Great Lakes Rooms in the University Center. The memorial will be a celebration of Ganzert’s life and the legacy he left at NMU. Memorials can be directed in Ganzert’s name to the NMU Foundation at 1401 Presque Isle Ave., Marquette, MI 49855, 227-2627, or the Hiawatha Music Coop, 129 Baraga Ave., Marquette, MI, 49855, 226-8575.
