Should marijuana be legalized?

SOUND OFF

Lilith Kontos, junior

English

“It should at least be decriminalized. I don’t see the harm in legalizing recreational or medicinal marijuana, plus you don’t have to use it if you don’t want to.”

Robert Halso, senior

Environmental studies

“I support legalization because it’s awesome. There should be an age requirement for recreational use, and medicinal use should depend on doctor approval.”

Dan Hunter, senior

Construction management

“If it were legalized, there would need to be the necessary precautions because it would have risks, like driving under the influence. We need to take small steps toward full legalization.”

Erika Wilson, junior

International studies

“I’m all for legalization. If marijuana does become legal, people need to be safe when using and selling it.”
