On Monday, Oct. 21, the Jamrich Hall lobby was filled with students crafting Halloween-themed beaded bracelets. The event was hosted by ASNMU in hopes of allowing students to destress and recharge in the midst of midterm season.
Freshman Sophia Bassino explained this event was beneficial to her because it gave her a chance to relax and have fun.
“This event allowed me to hang out with my friends and take a break from studying,” Bassino said.
ASNMU provided all of the beads and string that were spread out on tables in Jamrich for students to enjoy.
“It was very organized, and they provided a ton of different materials,” Bassino said.
The event had an amazing turnout, with every table packed with students making bracelets.
“There were a good number of people fighting for a chance to make a bracelet,” Sophomore Samantha Chaon said.
Not only were students given the chance to spend time with friends during bracelet making, but some also met new people to strike up a conversation with, which is something some students might not usually do on their own.
“I was surprised that this older woman came and sat next to me and my friends,” Chaon said. “She started asking us questions about our lives and relating to her and her now grown family.”
Through this event, ASNMU provided an opportunity for students to relax and take a break from midterms, bring out their creative side while talking with new and old friends.
