A political science symposium featuring Detroit Free Press columnist and reporter Dawson Bell will be held in the Reynolds Recital Hall in the Hedgcock Building this Friday, Oct. 5. Bell covers state politics and policy in Lansing for the Free Press. He is an alumnus of Northern Michigan University and earned his bachelor's degree in 1977.

Students learn about alcohol

The Health Promotions Office (HPO) will hold an interactive Skill Builder entitled "Beer and Booze 101-The Basics: A New Way to Look at the Old Information" on Friday, Sept. 28 in the Back Room of the University Center. This Skill Builder will challenge students to reexamine information they may already have concerning alcohol use and abuse, said Lenny Shible, Health Promotions specialist.
