THE AMAN PROJECT — The Refugee Outreach Collective Humanitas and NMUs philosophy department is hosting a fundraiser to raise funds for the Aman Project, a humanitarian organization located in Istanbul, Turkey, that supports LGBTQ+ refugees and asylum seekers are in need of assistance. Donation are encouraged but not required to enter the events raffle.

It is likely that you or someone you know has witnessed an act of hate towards an Asian American in the last year. A third of Americans, 33%, admitted to having witnessed someone blaming Asians for the COVID-19 pandemic in an April 2020 poll by Ipsos.

The North Wind is an independent student publication serving the Northern Michigan University community. It is partially funded by the Student Activity Fee. The North Wind digital paper is published every Friday during the fall and winter semesters except on university holidays and during exam weeks. The North Wind Board of Directors is composed of representatives of the student body, faculty, administration and area media.
