SPECIAL MEETING — NMUs Board of Trustees met on Thursday morning for an eleven-minute special meeting to discuss the UAW Memorandum Number Four asking for an acceleration in the 2021-2026 contract pay scale. This increase in the pay scale affects roughly 70% of the union members.

MELODIOUS MEMORIES - This is me on my fourth birthday, proudly holding one of my most iconic gifts. This plastic pink Barbie guitar played a set of preloaded songs, the most memorable of which was What a Girl Wants by Christina Aguilera. MUSIC MAJORS - The NMU department of music recently created a new major, music industry, to help students entering into the world of music administration and business. The idea for the major was inspired by student stories who graduated from NMU with a music major.

The North Wind is an independent student publication serving the Northern Michigan University community. It is partially funded by the Student Activity Fee. The North Wind digital paper is published every Friday during the fall and winter semesters except on university holidays and during exam weeks. The North Wind Board of Directors is composed of representatives of the student body, faculty, administration and area media.
