NEW BOARD TRUSTEES - Three new trustees joined the NMU board in February, and met with the other trustees during a retreat Feb. 16 and 17, 2023. The next Board of Trustees meetings are scheduled for May 4 and 5, 2023 in the Northern Center.

ADVOCACY — EQMI is an LGBTQ + advocacy and victim advocate services organization nonprofit that is based in lower Michigan that advocates for the rights of LGBTQ + individuals and communities as well as providing victim services. Mandy Bonesteel is the current rural outreach coordinator based in the U.P. and is working to provide these services to community members.

GREAT RUN - The Wildcats end their season with a loss to McKendree in the second round of the NCAA tournament 83-93. Senior guard Max Bjorklund (4) averaged 34 points per game in the tournament for his final season at NMU.

The North Wind is an independent student publication serving the Northern Michigan University community. It is partially funded by the Student Activity Fee. The North Wind digital paper is published every Friday during the fall and winter semesters except on university holidays and during exam weeks. The North Wind Board of Directors is composed of representatives of the student body, faculty, administration and area media.
