The North Wind is an independent student publication serving the Northern Michigan University community. It is partially funded by the Student Activity Fee. The North Wind digital paper is published daily during the fall and winter semesters except on university holidays and during exam weeks. The North Wind Board of Directors is composed of representatives of the student body, faculty, administration and area media.

NIT Class B games this weekend

Negaunee Invitational Tournament basketball action heats up this weekend with competition in Class B, featuring many former college and high school stars. Fans can get their post-March Madness basketball fix beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the Lakeview Memorial Gymnasium.

“This is the biggest Class B field we’ve ever had,” tournament director John Basolo said. “There will be some excellent match-ups.”
