About us

The North Wind is an independent student publication serving the Northern Michigan University community. It is partially funded by the Student Activity Fee. The North Wind digital paper is published daily during the fall and winter semesters except on university holidays and during exam weeks. The North Wind Board of Directors is composed of representatives of the student body, faculty, administration and area media.

North and South Korea will unify under the same flag and form a combined women’s ice hockey team for the first time in the Winter Olympics. The two countries have not spoken in over two years, but have been speaking since last week despite warnings from Japan of North Korea’s “charm offensive.” North Korea will send 230 supporters to the games, which will take place in Pyongyang, South Korea in early February.
