An annual tradition for the first time since pre-COVID-19, students can attend Condomonium, a sex education event hosted by Meyland Hall in collaboration with ASNMU and the Student Finance Committee (SFC) this Friday, April 14 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Northern Center Ballrooms. There will also be a variety of organizations and departments from the community tabling throughout Jamrich all week on topics related to sex and sexuality.

The main event will feature a variety of games to participate in, such as ring toss, water pong, a coloring station with coloring books, a “sex” walk and cornhole with the boards painted with peaches and eggplants.

There will also be a raffle at the end of the night to win $1,000 worth of prizes (sex toys and non-sex related items) with donations from the Lion’s Den and other organizations, Anna Tousley freshman political science major said.

“I think it’s important to raise awareness for sex education because sometimes there’s stuff people don’t necessarily know about, like, what is safe sex or what is included in safe sex,” Tousley said. “It’s important to educate people on what sex education is and why it’s important past a high school level, because people in college kind of do whatever they want to do and it’s kind of important to wrangle them in.”

Planned Parenthood and the SEEC will be available at the event and there will be many free condoms, Tousley said.

“People can take many, many free condoms. I think we have like 4,000 coming in, so a lot of free stuff. And there’s gonna be stickers,” Tousley said. “I would encourage people to come and play games, win prizes and have fun with their friends.”
