SUPPLIES— EcoReps provided everything necessary for mending and upcycling, and participants provided the clothes.
On Tuesday night, EcoReps held a sewing and mending workshop in Jamrich to expand the horizons both of their club and the NMU community.
“We want to involve other clubs on campus, especially new and growing ones, so we can find ways to make sustainable events,” said EcoReps Director Taryn Andersen.
Mending and upcycling clothes falls into the group’s mission of making campus life more sustainable for students.
“I think this is something that we’re going to try and do more,” Andersen said.

Many participants in the workshop were already upcycling clothes from previous fashion-based EcoReps events, like the screen printing workshop they recently held. Future workshops along similar themes may follow in the future.
