THE AMAN PROJECT — The Refugee Outreach Collective Humanitas and NMUs philosophy department is hosting a fundraiser to raise funds for the Aman Project, a humanitarian organization located in Istanbul, Turkey, that supports LGBTQ+ refugees and asylum seekers are in need of assistance. Donation are encouraged but not required to enter the events raffle.

DONATION BASED — All of the kombucha Vancheck makes, she offers on the side of the road and uses an honor system to accept donations in exchange for the drink. She prints the labels and processes the kombucha herself, but the longevity of the kombucha stand is a community effort.

The North Wind is an independent student publication serving the Northern Michigan University community. It is partially funded by the Student Activity Fee. The North Wind digital paper is published every Friday during the fall and winter semesters except on university holidays and during exam weeks. The North Wind Board of Directors is composed of representatives of the student body, faculty, administration and area media.
