A group of NMU students and other community members, led by NMU senior Ceirighen Gill, marched from the Northern Center to the post office on Washington Street to protest gun violence Thursday. The marchers carried signs and shouted “No more silence, end gun violence” as they passed onlookers and honking cars. Gill said they were inspired to do something after the school shooting in Tennessee that killed six people, and thinks this is the first step to address the issue.
