Students may have many concerns when it comes to academics, one of them being their choice of major and success within their field. With a walk around and a few glances at the array of booths, they can explore different opportunities and speak with professionals at the Northern Center Ballrooms, where the Majors Fair will be hosted on Tuesday, March 19.

At the doors, students entering the fair will get entered into a drawing for $20 CatCa$h.

“We are hoping that all students who attend this event will be able to make meaningful connections with faculty, student organizations and professionals within their area of study,” said Success Advisor Simon Moesch. “This event can be used to enhance the knowledge of the field and the opportunities that are provided to them.”

According to Moesch, exploring students will be given a chance to look into any major that interests them, and discuss such interests with employers. Students with declared majors will still have a chance to make connections and “dive deeper,” building relationships with professionals who are willing to help.

The fair’s structure has been altered to be more inclusive and encompassing to all students, according to Moesch. Advisors, employers and student organizations will all be present at the event.

“This event is open to all NMU students. We have gone through and adjusted what has previously happened at the Majors Fair to ensure that no matter who you are, there is something you can get out of attending this event,” Moesch said. “Stop in for a few minutes, say hi to some familiar faces and get to know some new people.”
