THE AMAN PROJECT — The Refugee Outreach Collective Humanitas and NMUs philosophy department is hosting a fundraiser to raise funds for the Aman Project, a humanitarian organization located in Istanbul, Turkey, that supports LGBTQ+ refugees and asylum seekers are in need of assistance. Donation are encouraged but not required to enter the events raffle.

PRIDE FLAGS - The removal of three LGBTQ+ pride flags from Gwinn public school classrooms has sparked a community-wide debate. Two NMU students are working to convince the Gwinn Area School Board to allow the flags to be reinstated.

The North Wind is an independent student publication serving the Northern Michigan University community. It is partially funded by the Student Activity Fee. The North Wind digital paper is published every Friday during the fall and winter semesters except on university holidays and during exam weeks. The North Wind Board of Directors is composed of representatives of the student body, faculty, administration and area media.
