For many students coming to NMU as members of the LGBTQ+ community, finding comfortable housing is an ordeal. Now, as of Sept. 20 the Pride Rock proposal has been submitted to NMU administration, and it details plans for an LGBTQ+ priority house in the dorms which would significantly reduce housing-related stress for many queer students.

The North Wind is an independent student publication serving the Northern Michigan University community. It is partially funded by the Student Activity Fee. The North Wind digital paper is published every Friday during the fall and winter semesters except on university holidays and during exam weeks. The North Wind Board of Directors is composed of representatives of the student body, faculty, administration and area media.
