About us

The North Wind is an independent student publication serving the Northern Michigan University community. It is partially funded by the Student Activity Fee. The North Wind digital paper is published daily during the fall and winter semesters except on university holidays and during exam weeks. The North Wind Board of Directors is composed of representatives of the student body, faculty, administration and area media.

The Northern Michigan University Men’s Swimming and Diving team won 11 events on their way to a 166- 134 victory over Division I opponent University of Wisconsin Green Bay, while the Women’s squad won nine races in the team’s final dual meet of the season Saturday Jan. 13 against University of Wisconsin Green Bay.
