About us

The North Wind is an independent student publication serving the Northern Michigan University community. It is partially funded by the Student Activity Fee. The North Wind digital paper is published daily during the fall and winter semesters except on university holidays and during exam weeks. The North Wind Board of Directors is composed of representatives of the student body, faculty, administration and area media.

    Senior guard/forward Isaiah Johnson joined an elite crew last weekend, becoming the 32nd member of the 1,000 point club in NMU history. Johnson led the team in scoring in both games, scoring 24 points on Saturday against McKendree University, followed by a 33-point performance against Lewis University on Sunday. In Tuesday’s game against Minnesota-Duluth, Johnson contributed 18 points.
