Swinging to the beat

Whether you are interested in dancing or just looking to try something new, swing by a meeting of the NMU Swing Club. The club practices East Coast and Modern swing dancing. Beyond club meetings, the organization also hosts campus- and community-wide events, according to club President Sarah Robinson.

“In previous years we have hosted dances and events on campus that are open for students and community members,” Robinson said.

Currenty the club is planning to help teach swing dancing at a 1920s themed dance in April.

Swing Club is open to all students, regardless of skill level.  Robinson says the more experienced members are willing and able to lend a hand in teaching beginning dancers.
